Christian Lechner joined The Blue Minds Company in 2018 as Associate Partner with a focus on energy transition, renewable energy and smart city concepts. He is working closely with the Blue Minds portfolio company FSIGHT in Israel, which is developing an Artificial Intelligence energy platform for households, energy communities and microgrids to optimize energy usage, save costs, enable peer-to-peer energy trading and implement an efficient and sustainable distributed grid environment.
Christian has diverse professional experience as investor, strategy consultant and entrepreneur in Europe, the US, and Latin America. He graduated from Vienna University with a Magister degree in International Business Administration and earned an MBA from The Wharton School in Philadelphia as a Palmer Scholar with a focus on entrepreneurial management and finance. He worked for several years as private equity and growth capital investor for Lehman Brothers and Warburg Pincus in London and as Investment Director at LFPI Group in Vienna. As a strategy consultant and Junior Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company Christian led client projects in Austria, Germany and Eastern Europe focusing on efficiency, lean transformation, and growth strategies in the energy and finance sector.
When the mobile taxi app market was still in its infancy, Christian co-founded Safer Taxi, a mobility tech platform to book, pay, and rate taxis. The business started in Buenos Aires in Argentina, expanded to Brazil, Chile and Mexico and became an early market leader in Latin America.
