Senior Energy Manager
Valerie Herzog is an economist and social scientist focusing on sustainability and innovation management (UC Berkeley, WU Wien, Diplomatische Akademie Wien) and is responsible for sustainability projects at Blue Minds Solutions with a focus on spin-offs in this area.
Valerie is passionate about using research, policy, data, and evaluation to deliver positive social impact for grand societal challenges and used these skills as a consultant to advise companies, governments, international organizations, NGOs, DFIs and investors on stakeholder engagement, public-private partnerships and finance scale-up (Wirtschaftskammer Wien, World Economic Forum, Rocky Mountain Institute, Facebook ,…).
Valerie’s PhD research examines impact engagement designed to tackle the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through public and private collaboration with a focus on developing public-private platforms combining innovation, policy, behavioral economics and emerging technologies.
By embracing Sustainable Energy for ALL’s new Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning team, she has also actively shaped the formulation of a new logical framework for the public-private partnership advancing action on United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 7, Clean Energy.
As part of her scientific work at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, Valerie has successfully submitted and managed international research proposals in the single-digit millions euros range.
Valerie is trained in design and systems thinking, impact communications and storytelling.
